2. Terms of sale
What you buy
Lekker Game Night is an online party-game service. A host shows the game on a TV, laptop or projector and players join from their own phones in a web browser. Paid plans unlock more games and features for the account holder (the host). Players never pay and do not need an account.
| Free | R0. 20 games, up to 24 players per room, 2 custom quizzes of up to 15 questions. |
| Party Pass | R29 once-off. All games for 48 hours from payment. Does not renew. |
| Premium monthly | R49 per month. Renews every month until you cancel. |
| Premium yearly | R399 per year. Renews every year until you cancel. |
| Venue & School | R249 per month. Everything in Premium, up to 60 players per room, and use in public or commercial venues. Renews monthly until you cancel. |
Prices are in South African Rand and include VAT where VAT applies. There are no delivery costs or other fees. Prices may change; a change never affects a period you have already paid for, and we will email subscribers at least 20 business days before a new price applies to them.
Payment and security
Payments are processed by PayFast, a registered South African payment gateway. You pay on PayFast's secure (HTTPS) pages by card, Instant EFT or the other methods PayFast offers. We never see or store your card or bank details; we only receive a payment reference and the payment status. Recurring plans are billed by PayFast on the same day each period.
When you get access
Your plan unlocks as soon as PayFast confirms the payment, usually within a minute. If it has not unlocked after 15 minutes, email us.
Your records
PayFast emails you a receipt for every payment. Your current plan and its end date are always shown under Account on the home page, and you can ask us for a copy of your transaction history at any time.
3. Cancellations and refunds
- Cancel any time. Cancel a monthly, yearly or venue plan from the Account section or by emailing us. No further payments are taken, and you keep access until the end of the period you already paid for.
- 7-day cooling-off. Under section 44 of the ECT Act you may cancel within 7 days of your first payment for a plan, and we refund you in full. Under section 42 this does not apply once you have started using the service (hosted a paid game with it), but we still consider any reasonable request.
- Yearly plans. If you cancel a yearly plan early, we refund the full unused months, less a cancellation fee of one month's Premium price, as allowed by section 14 of the Consumer Protection Act.
- Party Pass. Refundable in full if you have not hosted a paid game with it. Once used it is not refundable, because the service has been delivered.
- If something goes wrong on our side (for example the service is down during your paid party), tell us and we will refund or extend your plan.
To ask for a refund, email info@fjwapps.co.za with the email address on your account. Refunds go back to the original payment method through PayFast within 10 business days.
4. Terms of use
- You need an account only to host. Account holders must be 18 or older. Players may be any age, except for 18+ games (see below), and only give a nickname, which is deleted when the room closes.
- Your plan is for you to host your own game nights. Do not share your login or resell access. Use in pubs, restaurants, schools, churches or other public or commercial settings needs the Venue & School plan.
- Music. Lekker Game Night never streams or provides music. If you play songs for the music games, you play them from your own legal source. Private use at home is fine. Playing recorded music in public (a pub, restaurant, school event or corporate function) needs your venue's own music licences, for example from SAMRO and SAMPRA, and must be allowed by your streaming service's terms.
- Your quizzes. Quizzes you create are yours. You confirm you have the right to use their content and that they are not unlawful, hateful or infringing. By sharing a quiz code you let anyone with the code play it. We may remove content that breaks these terms.
- Games. All game names, questions and designs are original or based on traditional games that are free for anyone to play. They are not affiliated with or endorsed by any other game, TV show or brand.
- The service is provided as is. We work hard to keep it running but cannot promise it will always be available. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act. Otherwise our liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the last 12 months.
- These terms are governed by South African law. We may update them; we will show the date at the top and email subscribers about important changes.
5. Privacy policy
FJW Apps (Pty) Ltd is the responsible party for your personal information. Our Information Officer is Francois Jacques Weideman, reachable at info@fjwapps.co.za.
| Account holders | Name, email address, date of birth (to confirm you are 18+), a securely hashed password, your plan and payment references, and the quizzes you create. |
| Players | Only the nickname typed when joining, kept in memory for the game and deleted when the room closes. |
| Why | To run your account and games, confirm your age, process payments and give you support. We do not sell your information or use it for advertising, and we do not send marketing without your consent. |
| Cookies | One sign-in cookie that keeps you logged in. No tracking or advertising cookies. |
| Who processes it for us | Render (hosting) and Neon (database) in Frankfurt, Germany, which is covered by the EU's GDPR, so it has protection at least as strong as POPIA. PayFast processes payments. If you use AI quiz drafting, the topic you type is sent to Anthropic in the United States to generate questions. That transfer is covered by Anthropic's data-processing terms, which give protection similar to POPIA (section 72). |
| How long | Until you delete your account, plus payment records for 5 years as tax law requires. |
| Security | HTTPS everywhere, hashed passwords, signed session cookies, and access limited to the people who run the service. |
| Your rights | You may ask to see, correct or delete your information, or object to its use, by emailing info@fjwapps.co.za. If you are unhappy with our answer you may complain to the Information Regulator at inforegulator.org.za. |
6. 18+ games and responsible drinking
Some games are for adults only. They are hidden unless the host is signed in, is 18 or older, and switches on 18+ mode. Each time, the host confirms that every player is 18 or older, and every player confirms the same on their phone. Penalties default to non-alcoholic forfeits. Nobody has to drink to play, and games can always be played with water or forfeits.
Not for persons under the age of 18. Drink responsibly, never drink and drive, and do not drink if you are pregnant. Lekker Game Night does not sell or supply alcohol. For help with alcohol, contact SANCA on 011 892 3829 or at sancanational.info.
7. Complaints and disputes
Email info@fjwapps.co.za and we will reply within 5 business days. If we cannot resolve it, you may contact the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud (cgso.org.za) or the National Consumer Commission. Nothing here limits your right to approach a court.
